Base camp

After a chase for black market fuel and a lot of whispering and suchlike we finaly left kathmandu for our base camp with our guide Janardin and a boy racer driver. We rock and rolled for 6 hrs mostly in the middle of the road round hairpin bends. many huge trucks had clingfilm windscreens with small peephole  - usual thing.
Contrary to press reports, Kathmandu is largely unaffected by the quake as is the annapuna circuit. However, tourism when the country most needs it is down 60 percent.

The fuel crises I'd due to india shutting it's border because they refuse nepal constitution to change. Nepal wants to become a secular country. Neither China nor india want this. China wants it to ve buddies.  India Hindu. Between them they have the power to bring the country to its knees. Gas and subsequently food is very rationed now and the streets are empty of cars. Buisinnes are closing fast.
